Device Memory Not Ready

Help anyone!!
I got my 9210 a couple of weeks ago and I was plannig to upgrade the code from 3.18 to what ever is current (3.7x) after I backup the data.
Unfortunately this morning I woke up and the disply is not coming on and when I press the dial key on the phone side I get the error "Device Memory Not Ready"
Also I can't lookup any names on my mobile. I am sure I did not drop it or anything serious. I was playing bounce last night before I went to bed.
Anyone seen something similat to this. I was getting used to it and now this.
Please tell me it is not serious.
HELP.

BTW does upgrading the Firmware deletes any data on the 9210?

I forgot to add one more symptom of the problem the sim seems to shutdown every while and it promps for the sim pin code.

Try tacking out the battery for 20 seconds

If that dont work try rebooting without sim
and memory card


Re upgrade you must allaways assume
that an upgrade wipes data and backup first
