The more I start to think that the only way to use it as a phone is with a BT headset. Then again I though the same of the 3650 but that one is sort of useable by itself... not very convenient though.

Using the N-Gage to talk is on a sideways basis. You hold the N-Gage sideways to have confersations. A little odd, but you can use it without a headset.
