You can format your phone using the *#7370# trick.
Type in that code on the standby screen, it will then ask for a security code (default is 12345) and it will restore your phone to like when you first got it.
Be aware that you should have the charger attached to the phone whilst you do this, if you run out of battery while the process is going on, your phone will be useless.
It will erase all apps, midi tones etc. so do a back up first.
Search the forum for more details.
Hope that helps

Use Nokia PC suite to back up everything you want to put back on the phone after the reset.
The reset will erase everything you have added since you first got the phone. Numbers, apps, tones..... the lot!
I think maybe some phone numbers can be saved to the SIM card (can anyone else on the forum confirm this?)
You said you've had your phone for a while. What firmware are you using? (type *#0000# on the standby screen) Might be a good idea to take your 7650 to a Nokia Service Centre and get them to firstly re-flash your phone, which resets the phone to factory settings (remember to do your backup, they won't do it! :( )and secondly to upgrade your firmware. Just a thought!
Thanks for the compliment!

You don't have to upgrade but it might be something to think about. From various discussions around the forum, v3.12 (the one you're using) is a bit buggy in places. Obviously, the latest version will get rid of any bugs.
Search the forum for more info on firmware versions.
I believe 4.39 is the latest version, your NSC will confirm this.

yep, Lee's dead right.
Doc gave us a really good tip to avoid having to reload midi and jar files, and the oplogo as well. Find "backupexclusionlist.dat" (in the program files/nokia folder) and delete the lines which refer to midi, java etc. Then back up your phone as normal. That way, when you restore "everything" , not only will you restore all apps, settings, contacts, diary etc, you'll also restore your midi, jar files.
BTW, Lee's spot on re 3.12 - it's prone to crash if memory maxes out. 4.39 seems to be generally available, even later releases some places. Ring ahead and make sure they'll do it while you wait (takes aprox 1 hour)4.39 is more stable and faster (I had 3.16), also the oplogo does not disappear at random any more
