Penny pinching !

I entirely agree with the whole article, and also always carry a spare battery with me and a Power Monkey mobile charger, just in case, for my N97. However for 18 I purchased a 1900mAh battery for...

N97

Due to the fact I use my N97 on a daily basis, I'm extremely familiar with it's shortfalls, and once asked Steve somewhere which phone he'd survive with for a week a way, so found this answer very...

My top ten

Well I have a few from the list, but it's obviously a somewhat subjective subject as it's dependent on the user. I don't use Skype a lot except on PC or may try it abroad if I can find wifi, but as a...

Choice !

I entirely agree that people should have choice, and not everyone uses their phone the same way, my personal preference is to have both and I'm happy to accept the 'bulk' in fact I'm hoping my next...

Hybrid

And the solution to the debate is a hybrid phone so you can have the best of both worlds ! My N97 is obviously not the best example , but the form factor is , I think , perfect . So I really hope a 4...

Recycle

Great read as usual Mr L, my 'mature' phones all seem to follow the same path, I have contact handsets (which I'm considering changing after 10yrs and maybe going 'unlocked' , but that's another...

apple response.

I am no way an Apple fan, but I honestly thought the response was extremely good, from a customer service point of view I really can't see what else they could have done. As an N97 user I wish Nokia...

Much faster

I've found it much much faster than the current Opera mobile, and not really much hungrier with RAM usage, also can set it as default browser on N97, it doesn't work on all apps, but does open email...

Nokia follows Waze ?

Good addition, and very similar to the way Waze updates there data, as long as people use it , could bring great improvements :)

Whatever you're 'used to'

As someone who has been a full time resistive screen user for over 12 months, I think the main point is familiarity !! I'm a bit of a phone geek (surprise surprise) and so, often friends will ask...

Anti Touchscreen

I'd been anti touch screen ever since I first saw one and so put off trying one untill I found the N97 , in which I saw the safety net of the qwerty keyboard (which I'm using now) so N97 problems and...

Awful

I tried bolt a while ago, basically because of Video support, but remived it after a couple of days from my N97, it's truly AWFUL !!!!

Symbian N series

Don't know if it's only me, but the statement seems to say that there WILL be Nseries running Symbian in the future, that Symbian^4 will be used, and as no-one has seen it yet it can hardly be argued...

Ram

Interesting article as ever, and sadly as an N97 user I'm fully aware of the need for both a bigger C memory and much much more RAM :( Really hope Nokia start 'over engineering' there handsets so...

C Robber

Find it a slight improvement, but why oh why do Nokia insist on everything loading on C something which is very lacking on my N97. I have dozens of apps installed on E which work as fast and often...

How you use the phone

I entirely agree that usage consumes the battery much faster, logically, however I think ALL phone manufacturers should install a battery that will run its most power hungry apps for at least 10 to...

Battery Life.

Completely agree steve, I've had to charge my N97 on a daily basis from new, and several times it's died mid-afternoon, so I bought a 1900mAh battery which gave me a bit more time and juice, but...

@feersumenjinn, there is only one good reason for buying any of these phones ! Because you want one !!!!! Nobody has to buy a mobile phone, people buy them (top end handsets anyway) because they want...

despite the massive loss of ram , it works so smoothly ! If only nokia could get the touch ui to work so well with the standard software ! Shows what the N97 could do (with double the memory) as it...
