text messaging

Since yesterday i have been unable to send text messages from my phone. they get stored in outbox and keep trying to resend but keep deferring. I have put the sim in another phone and it works without any problems. Does anyone have any idea how to fix the phone or will it need to be sent back to the shop?

Have you checked the network connection when using the 8510? Have you checked that the phone is using the correct message centre number?

i tried my sim in another one and it works fine, i also tried a different sim in my phone and the same problem occured. O2 said that the problem must be with the phone. How do i check the network connection? The message centre number is correct.

Make sure the phone is configured to use the SMS message centre from the SIM card, and not an SMS message centre defined in the phone, or make sure that the SMS message centre defined in the phone is the correct one for your network operator.

In S60 the setting is in Messaging > Options > Settings > Text message. There see "Message centre in use" and "Message centres".
