LReldon Sweet! I just saw the video, I really like the face to face feature. I'll have to download it later

Then to top it off I found out Handango was running a 20% promo on one of the Google sidebars!

Happy days!

Aaron Vergara very nice.

i think the wall of pictures eyecandy was first seen in cooliris, an internet browser plug in for picture and video search.

Tzer2 Viipottaja, you can get back to the AAS style by clicking on the "AAS Forum Style" link at the top of the screen, just under the banner advert.

The AAN skin is because you've visited a comment or forum through the AAN site, which triggers it.

Unregistered I installed this app on to my memory card, but locate it in any folder. where is it?

viipottaja Steve, I agree with you but sure does look sweet.. If they can integrate this neatly into the regular gallery app, I am all for it as it adds "coolness" and "eye candy" to the experience, so highly valued by the average Joe in particular.

ps. When I comment on AAS nowadays, it takes me to the AAN comment page.. not that it matters.

Nemoi but Beta Labs is more oriented towards the pro-user in any case... and I would hope that they use their experience there to one day (hopefully sooner rather than later) implement these features in the phone from day one. See for instance the Ovi Contacts project, which grew out of Nokia Chat, and now seems to be integrated in the firmware of devices like the e75 and the n86.
So, if they try this out now and use it to replace the gallery of future touch screen devices, why not?

slitchfield @nemoi: it's all a question of elegance. For example, some recent S60 devices now have at least 3 ways of browsing photos. Fine for the power user, but the poor new user will be utterly confused. I hate inelegance in an interface. There should be one way to do most things and it should be the cleanest, simplest, best way.

Nemoi steve, I seriously don't understand you're negative views on having some choice. It's the same as with the weather widgets - where is the problem is having more than one option? And in particular here, where the Photo Browser looks way more stlyish and accessible than the normal gallery. In my opinion it has exactly the 'wow'-effects that S60 is missing a lot of times...

fernando20 Wow, I'm gonna use this if only for the speed. And I don't know, but I think Scalado might have something to do with this, which would be quite cool for S60.

teamet Yep - looks nice! N97 is shaping up to be quite an attractive offering!

Rafe Personally I'd love to see these kind of features make it into Gallery. Even the performance improvements would be worth it.

Introducing Nokia Photo Browser

I'm not sure S60 really needed yet another photo browser, but Nokia Beta Labs has gone and released one anyway. Nokia Photo Browser offers a fluid wall of photos (see screens and video below), with 'magnifying glass' feature and 'face detection'. It's very limited though, in that there are no menus or ways of actually doing things with your photos. I'd have settled for v21 firmware and a faster Gallery - Nokia?
