Yes I use WirelessIRC on my E71 and it works very well. On other phones I tend to stick the the mobile site or dabr.co.uk or similar. However all these mobile solutions work for me as a conscious decision to check Twitter rather than a background thing.

There actually is a native Twitter client: WirelessIRC. Unfortunately, it's missing some important features, including notification of new "tweets", the ability to click on URLs to launch a web browser (instead it has a "copy URL" feature; you then have to paste the URL into a browser), and, perhaps most importantly, there's no way that I can see to post anything other than replies to other people's "tweets". Too bad, because it's otherwise a very nice little application.

Although Twim runs in 5th edition touch has not been utilised, you'll have to use the virtual d-pad. Shame.

Fring
Might be nice, but I'll stick to fring that can also do MSN, Skype and Facebook on top of Twitter.

Sweet, this is the smoothest, fastest twitter client that I have used on my phone until now.
I am keeping this one, but along with Twibble - just in case I need to do more than this (GPS, photo upload, show on map etc).

Twim, the low-bandwidth, low-fuss Twitter client
Twitter itself seems to be going from strength to strength, the micro-blogging platform that thinks big. Twim is a brand new Java-hosted but very S60-friendly Twitter client, letting you do everything from the comfort of your phone, and Ewan's been trying it out. Here's his Twim review.
