Thanks, but I have a 5800 here as of this morning, with production firmware, so will be doing more articles on this in due course.

The thing about the upgrade is that it came without warning. I sent Nokia a blistering email about how stupid (yes it is appropriate in this sense) they are for not already having a support infrastructure in place. This phone was announced weeks, if not months ago and there was no excuse for being late to the party.
By the way, there is not iSync plug-in for the 5800 if you plan to use it with your Mac, however I did get one for mine. If you need it PM me or drop a line here and I will forward it to you. It works perfectly. I am impressed. Also, check out: BluePhoneElite @ http://mirasoftware.com/BPE2/. It is an outstanding application for SMS and call management.

Hey Steve. Seems that just now, tonight, Nokia upgraded the NMT app and added support for the 5800Xpress Music. By the way, I am using one as a replacement for the iPhone. If you guess are interested in a review let me know and I can try to whip one up for you.

This has been around for quite a while. Maybe a year or so, at least six months. You are only hearing about it now because Steve has started reporting on Mac issues. I suggest you hang out at the Nokia site more. You will get more info about Mac and Nokia compatibility.

Ah okay. Well, fingers crossed that they release a serious update for NMT. I want to use my Mac, not Windows.
No hate, just preference.

Yes, I saw the date. Yet I restarted my Mac this afternoon and was prompted that a newer version was available. Suspect it was a minor tidying/fixing update and nothing major. That's why I tacked it onto the end of the more major Mac news story 8-)

Hi Steve,
Not sure what you mean regarding the update for Nokia Multimedia Transfer or NMT. It was last updated on Nov 20 (http://europe.nokia.com/A4423135). There is no newer update. Mac users are waiting for the upgrade to support the 5800XpressMusic. We are forced to use Windows until the better solution comes along. Hopefully Nokia will be quick.

Relevant Mac updates
Mac owning S60 fans might like to note that OS 10.5.6 is just out, with one of the highlighted features being 'improved reliability of Address Book syncing with iPhone and other devices', so if you've been having trouble syncing S60 Contacts using iSync then it's well worth a try updating. Use the Apple menu 'Software update' feature to grab 10.5.6.
