I agree. Nothing beats the mini as far as speed is concerned, but there are certain kind of scripts / functionalities on some websites for which you definitely need the S60 Browser.

ajck Opera Mobile for Symbian is a joke, and the latest version 9.5 has been rumoured for so long, it's now little more than a myth (despite occasional interim status updates)

Mini is where it's at, if you're OK with proxies and non-native app limitations, otherwise the native Nokia browser on S60 is the way to go.
