malerocks I once read an article somewhere that a guy glued on a 3.5 mm pin on an old tripod, then inserted the pin in the audio jack of the n95 (which is on the side of the phone). This way he had created a crude tripod for use with the n95 camera.

sjhong To me, even bending the paper clip seems too high tech. I use virtually anything as a stand for my N95. Books, my wallet, whatever is at hand. However, if you guys feel the need for something more elaborate, please check the following video:

It'd for the iPod but I bet it works for any phone.

snoyt Congrats with the N82. Still enjoying mine here. Though if the E71 had a 5Mpixel... Concerning low tech solution. A 50 eurocent or a 1 euro coin leaning in the flash depression does the trick too. It's a bit pricier, but its still valid after use. Your micro-SD card works BTW too.

I don't want to get you into trouble with the wife. But did you try the/a wedding ring? :-P

Tzer2 In our local supermarket they had a product on sale called "clothes dye fixer", which helps if you dye your own clothes using stuff like Dylon etc.

If you look closely at the ingredients list though, it's actually made up entirely of "Sodium Chloride", which is of course common salt. They were charging four times the price of salt in a normal packet though! :-)

Maybe someone should do the same trick here, put paper clips in some smart packaging and call them "portable smartphone multimedia stands" or something along those lines. They could make a mint.

The paper clip solution

Call this a quirky weekend item if you like, but the humble paper clip came to my rescue today and I thought I'd share what happened. After a week trialling the Nokia N96, I'd become really attached to its kick stand, enabling it to prop itself up for comfortable 'by your side' video watching. How could I apply this to my other S60 smartphones? Read on...

Read on in the full article.
