Bricked

I have tried to update through the nokia software updater and the update failed and bricked my phone, i got a brand new handset tried again and it failed when the phone crashed so i thought it wasn't worth bricking again so i have left it. my phone is a unlocked n96 and just seems to reset and fail the update every time and the update is not on the FOTA yet so looks like i'll have to put up with the buggy software which is a shame as it is a pain in the ass with the problems it has

TheCleanerLeon how about we get a sticky thread like we did in the n95 forum where you show the changelog for each fw update..

im lock to voda by the way, who, i hope, are at the very least, better than orange at releasing new firmware.

I have already tried this, and V20 still was not showing in NSU, even though it was showing in the Nokia online checker.

Did it just say there was newer firmware available? If so, it may of been a belated message regarding V11.101.

sapporobaby Hey Steve,

On topic, but different phone. Have you heard any rumors about an upgrade coming for the N85? Great phone but it needs an upgrade badly. Nothing major, just some basic things.

Micky! It will continue following reconnection. It uses Red bend technology, and a recent video demonstration post on here showed the guy actually removing the battery of the device mid updating, and upon putting the battery, it continued to update without any problems.

Check the link below..

i dont know for certain but i assume it downloads the update before installing it,so if downloading is interrupted by bad connection it just wont update until you reconnect and get the full update so i think ppl need not worry about bricking phones with FOTA updates
i'm sure some one will confirm my theory one way or another
