It's missing approximately 99% of S60 apps, and even more Java titles.

There are literally hundreds of great games and applications that people might want to buy, what reason does Nokia have for NOT including them in Download?

Nokia's snatching defeat from the jaws of victory by failing to make Download more comprehensive and easier to use.

Even most good freeware stuff is missing, which you'd think they'd want to add as it would make the phone more useful at no extra cost to Nokia.

It's also weird that different phone models have totally different selections in Download, even when the models are completely compatible. Why is "Snakes" available on some S60 Download sections but not others?

Is Nokia offering unreasonable terms to publishers, so that only the biggest companies get a place on Download? If so, that's pretty short-sighted as they could be making a lot more money by offering a large selection of titles and taking a share of the sale price.

bartmanekul Its still missing things like the beer glass thing. Yes, utterly useless I know, but apple has this on its app store already. And yet most N95 users dont know it exists because its on some website somewhere. And the Symbian version has been out for ages, over a year I think.

Same with the lightsaber app.

And I wont start on Nokias website version again, I'll just say that somehow they have made it even worse to navigate than the phone version! That takes some doing.

Definitely.

At the moment Download is barely changed since it was introduced (that must be what, 2 or 3 years ago now?).

They seemed to reorganise it a tiny bit a few days ago with clearer folder titles, but that was all.

It's weird that Nokia don't revamp Download, because it must be a gold mine in terms of software sales if they can make it easy enough to use. There are probably tens of millions of phones with Download icons on them, and they're even putting Download on Series 40 now which would bring in hundreds of millions of people.

argh Doesn't seem to be in my Download! application (N95 unbranded firmware, UK). I've tried refreshing the lists in all the sub-categories.

Er.... Nokia? What's this all about? Is there any point to this other than keeping Flash animators in employment?
Imo its obviously a boost to try and get people looking at 'download!' on their phones.

But its the same sad story as Ngage, but worse.

They should have done this after a revamp, the stuff on download! is still, quite frankly, crap.

Its like a very badly done advert (the video still isnt on download!) which is advertising how bad nokias apps service in comparision to Apple's effort.

Shooting themselves in the foot really.

fox650 Can anyone open this URL flash? My browser is getting stuck at 25%.

Perhaps that's the idea, until I give it the image, tone, code etc?
It doesn't detect the sound from my PC either

fox650 I did some searches on other sites. The website address was around some time ago with a counter for a launch on 7th July, when nothing happened. Soon after the launch date the letter was put onto the site, and trail went dead.

Today it's showing in downloads with a code, we need someone who can work out the crypt on it. I haven't got the smarts for this, and random checks probably are too hard. Any ideas?
