Whenever I go to "Go to My Nokia Backup" it goes to https://my.nokia.com/A4759356?mnb=y which is just a blank page for me.

I tried Nokia backup with my Motorizr Z8, and it obviously didnt work :-P.
But a little searching came up with this:
http://www.motorolabackup.com
Looks like Motorola has the same concept too, but only for the phone book.
There is a facility to backup text messages too, but this seems to be a paid service.

Link fixed - try http://www.nokia.com/mynokia
However not all regions support Nokia Backup yet.

Tips
As for bookmark, instead of the one included in the article you can use this shorter one:
http://my.nokia.com/mn_XX_backup where XX is your country's short code (eg: uk - United Kingdom; my - Malaysia; fr - France, and so on. It is not available in all the My Nokia countries (yet)).
With that faulty registration: if you wait a few days, (maybe a week?) that IMEI can be re-registered without any Nokia Support action.

I don't seem to be having any luck accessing My Backup. I've previously registered with My Nokia and when I log in and go to My Backup all I get is a blank page. Anyone have any ideas?

Heads Up!
Be Careful - the link steve provided is the to UK version of the site. Be sure to visit https://my.nokia.com, then pick your region and register.
I of course did not know this, registered under the UK site, cancelled, tried signing up again in Australia, and now it wont let me because I had previously registered my IMEI!
Hopefully Nokia Support will reply to my support email to sort this out.

My Nokia Back up
Hey Steve
I don't mean this to sound boastful but i discovered nokia back up, back in February and have been using it ever since. I'm not sure how closely linked it is with Ovi sync though if it's been out since February. I recall you writing an article earlier this year about ovi sync but I thought that my nokia back up was common knowledge. Wish i had mentioned something now.
I've used it while on holiday over in America in march and it worked a treat.

egroupware
hi
Nice to see that there exist also other sync solutions - all that what nokia backup does can be done also with egroupware's syncml solution (all works 100% compared to nokia's backup beta). Have been using it one year now and good experiences - use it also after firmware updates.
Ciao

I signed up to Nokia back up about six weeks ago but have not synced my phone yet.
I keep some passwords and bank details in my mobile and I am not sure if it is safe enough or should I remove all that sort of information first?
What do you guys to?

Thanks Ricky!
Unfortunately, as you wrote, I get the error "wrong username or password"... :-(

These are the settings that came with the configuration message.
Connection Settings:
Server Version : 1.1
Data Bearer : Internet
Host Address: http://pim.nokia.com/services/syncml
Port : 80
Allow Sync Requests : Yes
Accept all sync requests : No
Network Authentication : No
The username and password seems to be autogenerated. So even if you manually the rest of the details, you may not be able to get around this.
Contacts : Remote Database : ./Contact/Unfiled
Tasks : Remote Database : ./EventTask/Tasks
Notes : ./Note/Unfiled
=======
-->Host Address: http://pim.nokia.com/services/syncml
Guess this answers someone's question earlier, it is http on port 80 (not https)
Since it is based on syncml, perhaps other phones could be supported in theory? (will give this a shot on my other phone - a Motorizr Z8. But I am not holding my breath)

Can anybody post the configuration? Here in Italy the service is active, but doesn't work: no way you can get the configuration SMS. Already tried to contact Nokia Support days ago, they even didn't know what I was talking about...
Thanks,
Gabrieke
