Screen size
My phone has a 1.9 inch screen, and the words are big enough for my mum to see (and she's over 50). I think that should be the screen size, but at most round it to 2 inches.

Qwerty that i can type on it if u put the phone on the table, wich is impposible with a slider keyboard and only possible with E90.
Besides xperia has windows mobile = total crap, filled with bugs !
Maybe, just maybe, it will be stable with "on the table" position, but i highly doubt it !

You would probably want to look at the upcoming X1 then from sony. thats got qwerty sorted in a good form factor. And touch screen. And GPS. And a camera. Only 3.2 though, with no lens cover....

A perfect phone for me would need to have a qwerty of some sort. If it's not that wide, a p1i style qwerty would do ! But not having one at all is a big minus. How can u call a thing without a keyboard a multimedia computer. U can't. And don't even start about T9 !

No touchscreen thanks, keep the buttons, one handed tactile feedback means I can operate the phone without looking at it. It's such a pain having to stand and poke your palm and a consequence of finger operation is a large form factor. No thanks.
A couple of questions.
Why does 'too ugly' matter? Do people put their phone up on a display stand and admire it? Use it to attract butterflys? Decorate their houses with them? Use them as hair decorations?
What's all this about battery? Is 48+ hours not good enough?

While it sounds good, for me its never going to replace a keypad, I can just operate it far faster.
I appriciate many prefer touchscreens, but I feel that should be a new range of nokias, rather than replacing phones in the current ranges. Theres still a market for both.

Owning a N95 I can testify that most phone actions are without the numeric keypad. Fingertouching is not that bad, far better than microsized qwerty keyboards. And know that Nokia has patented a haptic touchscreen feedback.

crappy keypad
The keypad is far to large. As such I suggest. Rip out the numeric part. Make the screen a touchscreen and allow finger touch entering of numbers and ascii (as in the Maemo 2008). Absolutely no pen with the thing! Just do a good userinterface. A slider is then not required and the length becomes more practical and visual pleasing. One hand typing is then still an option if the current screen orientation is maintained. Love the bluetooth shortcut.
I guess we would be pretty close to a decent Symbian Touch device ;-)
Ah, what the heck, add some n-gage game buttons to the left of the ear-speaker ;-)

Unstable S60
The E90 has many deep flaws. Too many moving parts is not one of them.
For example when you try to use Nokia Multimedia Transfer, it returns the message: "The list of all files and folders couldn't be fetched. The device refused the operation and returned an error code (32)."
If you try to use iSync, it says:
"[E90] Connection to the phone failed.
Please make sure that your phone is turned on. If this error occurs again, please restart your phone.
Device "E90" synchronization failed"
The number one flaw of the E90, of course, is the lack of a Linux kernel. Other flaws include a slow camera.
The Nokia N810 solves many of the problems of the E90 and supports many powerful Unix applications such as ext2, Mutt and elinks, a fast tabbed browser. Ext2 is required for reading web sites offline because VFAT can not do it. For more information see: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/li...ashFileSystems

All those small keys look like they'll get in the way.
Where's the Xenon flash?
What about storage?
