I' m a Nimbuzz Ambassador (which means I subscribed their program of beta testing and I send them feedback to improve their software periodically), and I can fairly tell that my use of Nimbuzz+Windows Live Contacts is good as hell. Performance over 3g is very very good here in italy. Haven't tried VOIP yet, though.
There are some glitches in the interface that i don't like, and i'm gonna inform soon the developer team.
I'll let them see this page soon.

Hi,
I gave it a shot and I am a bit disappointed. No matter what, in less than 5 mins something happens with the connection to server and I am not able to receive messages, but it seems that I can send them! The recipient receives ok, but what he sends does not arrive to me.
Voip is very good (only over 3g, voip over gprs is crappy), very low traffic for this quality (about 230kb/min duplex, which is low comparing to talkonaut 480kb/min and to very- low-voice-quality fring 180kb/min ), clear voice, no delays. Still, no yahoo calls whatsoever.
The presence is bit of a problem, my 70 yahoo contacts fail to load all the time or they load as offline all. Simple presence for 100 contacts "costs" about 200kb.
Nice interface, time stamps in chat and offline messages. Bad ergomonics though, unhandy menus, no online support bot (as in palringo), no visual notification. Red key closes the app, the old obsolete problem.
I wonder when will be clear for all IM client developers that there is a bunch of unwritten standards they have to meet...

Nimbuzz enters a crowded IM/VoIP market - in style
Thanks to (the other) Ewan for pointing out the existence of Nimbuzz, which hasn't actually formally launched yet. It's yet another VoIP/IM client for phones, but it's distinguished so far by having a native S60 client (kudos) already, by supporting Skype chat (yay for the AAS office) and by having the slickest and smoothest Web 2.0 download, sign-up and install I think I've ever experienced. Mobile VoIP isn't truly there yet though. As with Skype Mobile, a chargable gateway is used, though full VoIP is apparently on the way, as per Fring.
