Still waiting....

I've been trying with ScheduleWorld, but there's no goodness there (maybe
ScheduleWorld is just lame, but it's funambol based!). You can click the sync
buttom all day, and it doesn't seem to make it over to the gmail contacts.

It may be syncing somewhere, but it's not anywhere useful.

Unregistered You can sync your Google contacts using Funambol and it works well...i can't believe it takes so long to get mobile applications when it seems like everyone has gone mobile...

The only problem with Funambol is that it does not work with Google Apps...only with your generic gmail...I hope someone writes a sync application for Google Apps...it would be pretty easy i think but I guess the market is still too small.....

tomsky Hopefully this means that google calendar will make the transition from "thats cool" to "thats useful" the same way Gmail did. Until then, I think we'll all be stuck with incomplete syncs and Outlook based diaries.

Google, Contacts and Sync

We've had applications to sync into Google Calendar for a while, notably GooSync. But Google just released an official set of Contacts APIs (hooks for programmers to use), meaning that full sync into this part of Google may be on the horizon. But, as the Google OS blog notes, the APIs link into a generic contact store and not necessarily a GMail contact set, meaning that there's probably some tweaking at the Google end set to happen in the future, to simplify contact handling.
