Applications won't load after reinstalling

Has anyone else had problems with applications not loading. I've tried restoring through backup, reinstalling, reinstalling the firmware, changing the product code and then reinstalling firmware. The same problem occurs. Application installs and when selecting it nothing happens.

This has happened with nokmote, rotateme, fring, shakeme and others..... any ideas what this could be. I've not come across this on any other forums.

don't upgrade

see above "access to the integral 8GB flash memory disk has been improved" hahahaha. Since this update recording videos with the 5 Megapixel camera with storage on the "external" card on my N958GB does not work properly anymore. Starting somewhat 10s into the video the video keeps stopping and the file when played back shows the same problem. Have seen in a forum that I am not the only one having that problem. When I disconnect the USB after beeing in data transfer mode the phone hangs a few seconds later and I need to take out the battery. Shame on Nokia for releasing such a crap software on this "top of the line" device. That is not even alpha status.
Defragmenting (which took a whole night) helped for a couple of days but then the problem was back. On top of that only 3GB are used on the card and I don't even want to think what would happen when the card gets close to beeing full. 15.0.015 clearly has a bug here (lots of entries on different websites) and only Nokia R&D can and hopfull will fix this soon. Nokia should not sell phones with 8GB when they are not able to write a OS that can properly handle this. Try putting a 1GB file on the external memory. After the download is finished, the next 5 Minutes memory handling is totally out of hand and every application that uses the external memory takes for ever. I had a good laugh when I heard what kind of memory the N96 is supposed to have. I hope the N96 CPU has minimum 4 times the N958GB CPU power or a lot of people will be quite disappointed.

Unregistered Spoke to vodafone tech the other day...

Unregistered Ive just got an 8gig N95 (already own a debranded N95 on Ver 20) but i cant seem to upgrade to ver15, ive just put a stock Product code in the phone rather than the one that was there from "3" yet i still cant update to ver15.

Do i need the phone network unlocked before i can update the software?

crappynonsense this is pure crap.

i followed the installation instructions with the nokia pc suite.
everything seemed fine.

then when i tried to restore from my back up memory...

all my applications started to go missing.
i lost my a chinese-english dictionary which came originally with the phone

my phone cant read chinese anymore

and it keeps popping out "installing" for ages...

i dunno what the hell is wrong with my phone right now...

damn it.

wasted 4 hrs looking through all the threads on v15 and such shit still happens.

would have to waste a trip down to nokia and waste another day getting all my programs back in

bullshit

junchao8 I seem to have better luck than some, I copied all my files, format the memory card, then updated from V11 voda FW into V15 generic FW, I get the video tub, video recording is working; that may be because that i tend to install complex program in C (easy steamlined reinstall with some apps later) which gets flashed during updating, and music on E, which gets backed up; In the future, hopefully like on n82, data won't be flashed.

If you want you can get like plastic protectors for the front, back and the lens, google it. If you do treat it as a 500 quid device, you are likely to get fewer scatrch.

rm-320 (n95 8gb) firmware

I've upgraded my n95 8gb to version 15.x.x of the firmware and now NSU won't let me reinstall it.
The firmware upgrade was possible only by debranding my phone via the NSS tool. Can someone
please tell me how to revert it to the old firmware or how to convince NSU to let me reinstall the current firmware version? Please, don't tell me that reverting to and older version of the firmware will brick my phone, will damage it, will cause irreparable stuff. I already know that. I'm just asking why does it do that and if it's possible to do it via JAF or fbus cable. I'd appreciate some serious feedback.

V15

Hi,

Im currently using v10 firmware and want to update to v15.

Ive never updated firmware before and I was just wondering some things before I update:

I have the full version of the navigation software with voice guidance, I have read that the tracker is disabled in v15 does that apply with the full version?

Does quick office stay on the phone or does it have to be reinstalled?

And finally is spiderman 3 deleted?

Thanks in advance for replying.

And one more thing...
I love taking photography and I have N95 8GB. Is it advicible to sell the N95 8GB buy the N82 for better photos. - {very similar pic quality in normal light conditions - IMO N95 has a better camera, the N82 out does the N95 at night due to Xenon Flash.}

Also, I'm realy scared of the Slider and scratches in the camera lens. I already got some scratches with 10 days of use. Whenever i take out the phone from pocket, the slider opens - {I have no scratches on my phone - almost 3 months old....it stays in my old N93's pouch in my pocket - try keeping it in an oakley case}

Is it realy durable? - {after 3 months still rock solid}

Kindly advice me on this friends!

Thanks
Bala

Is the new N95 8GB firmware available in Asia

Folks,

I installed the Nokia Software Updater and tried updating my phone. My current firmware is 10.X and the udpater says that the update available is 11.X. I do not see the 15.x. Any ideas why? Do i have to update to 11.x first?

Thanks,
Pavan

I don't think so. I can't see any difference.
