MBounce Mobile Theatre is the only other .rm player i've seen for S60 (also plays .3gp). And at best i've only seen it for S60 2nd edition phones, though would've thought by now that there'd be a release for S60 3rd edition phones, or that they'd be one soon?

BTW, guys, don't forget to follow my multimedia reviews posted to http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum...splay.php?f=28 (in addition to the N95 forum); in there, I elaborate a LOT on the Symbian version of CorePlayer (too).

There isn't any, sorry, because of the closed format and the non-existence of VLC / Mplayer ports for Symbian.

Nokia 5500 problem on Coreplayer
I agree that the CoreCodec Coreplayer is a very good application. I even wanna use it for playing my vids in my Nokia 5500, but the problem is, when I'm am to view it in fullscreen, or pause and play again, or fast forward and backward, the phone starts to reset.
Is there any way how to solve this problem? I am absolutely sure that this problem only arise in this application. Thank you.

Accordingly to information from developers, located at CorePlayer forum here: http://www.corecodec.com/forums/index.php?topic=479.0
it is possiblele to use the current CorePlayer version to stream files from network computer over Wi-Fi.
Elp, could you please test it and confirm for all of us? If it is so, I will buy it right away.
>>Edited.
On the same link just appeared a disclaimer later. So, it will not stream from network and it will not stream over Wi-Fi. Too bad.

Integration with web browser ?
Hi,
I was just wondering how is the integration of that great player with web browsers such as Nokia web browser or Opera Mobile / Mini.
As for me, actually with the Nokia N95 and Real Player set as the default player for every browser, it fails at playing most actual video formats (DivX, XviD, flv, ...).
If you have an answer about this, feel free to reply, because it is a good reason for me to buy the CorePlayer Mobile player, thanks.
EDIT: On CoreCodec support website, it says there is a 'File association' tab, however this tab is not present for the S60 3rd Ed v1.1.1. :-(

Just wanted to mention that my problems with the activation code returned as invalid by the application have been resolved. I opened a support ticked with CoreCodec and a day later they sent me an alternate code that worked. The application seems to have a lot of potential and I'm lookng forward to future improvements at this point.

unfinished product
i've tested it on my p990i, and i must say that i am very dissapointed. Smartmovie still does a better job of playing movies, the sound is crappy and sometimes no sound comes out at all !!!. The video is sometimes slow and not clear. It can't even play mp3 files properly!!. Im regretting jumping on this bandwagon early, though to be fair they still calling it "beta".
But right now, I dont think it's worth a pound !!!

Hello,
I am with CoreCodec, Inc. - I thought I would take a chance to adress some of the concerns in this thread.

$25 for software dubbed as a Beta? No thanks.
They'd do well to drop the word "beta" and charge people for the "final release." Or make it a free, time-limited beta, then charge for it.

As was mentioned in the thread, the symbian version has been a long time coming. It's taken numerous man-[b]years[b] to get this product running on as many products, and platforms as it does. With a few notable exceptions (apache, gcc, java, etc) - there aren't very many programs that run on as many platforms as we do.
That being said, we have purchased thousands of dollars worth of hardware, and have thousands more to purchase before we have a complete product worthy of the CoreCodec name. In the mean time, there are literally hundreds of people who have been waiting for the Symbian version, and our software works on _most_ devices with no, or very few, issues. For those who experience problems, we offer a liberal refund policy. As for "charging for a beta" - developers aren't free, hardware (to test) isn't free, and there are hundreds of people willing to take a chance at a few issues. The money from the paid beta allows us greater freedom to do what it takes to support every possible platform, with as few issues as possible.
Besides, look at the competition - it's my belief that our "Beta" is better than any other media player I've seen to date for Symbian. Think of it this way - how many products (Vista, anyone?) were launched at beta quality, without being called "beta"? We're being honest about it.

I totally agree with ebrodeur, you can't charge someone $25 for a Beta application, especially when they don't even offer a demo.
|
Well, given the hundreds of purchases in the first 7 hours it was available, I would politely disagree with you. We offer a very liberal refund policy - if you have issues, we will return your money. We feel that our beta, while not yet fully complete, is nonetheless a good product. Furthermore, we feel that a product worth using is a product worth paying for, especially as we can use the money to improve the product faster.
We're not venture funded, and we've been out of pocket for over a year on the Symbian version. There is simply a limit to how many resources we can commit to a project without being paid for it.

As today has been one of our biggest selling days ever, we have been a little swamped. Most of the issues have been caused by people mistyping their IMEI; however, it's possible that on some devices we may be unable to properly detect the IMEI. We're working on a new build that should allow us to fix 100% of these issues, and should have one ready on Friday. In the meantime, if you would like a refund, you can email me personally (caverett *at* corecodec *dot* net), and I'll run it through personally.

I'm with the others! Beta should not be charged!
At least now I now there are no found delays during video playback.
Do they have policies for smartphone addicts that change their devices often? Can I re download for my newer phones?

I have purchased and downloaded CorePlayer earlier today. However I immeditely encountered a problem. I entered the registration number given to me at the end of purchase (which matches the one I received in an e-mail) but I then got a message that it is invalid. I double checked the code and made sure that I'm typing it correctly. I also double checked that I gave them the correct IMEI. I tried reinstalling the application but every time it comes back as ivalid. So I paid $25 USD for a product I cannot use - great. I e-mailed their support but so far no response. Very disappointing. I'm hoping that they can come up with some solution or at least refund my money. Their security proved so good that even a legitimate purchaser cannot use their software.
