martinharnevie I agree that would be a very good development.

Actually, for me the UI can stay key-centric like on S60 or S80.

But I tend to think and associate in pictures - and I think a lot of people are the same - so I want the option to be able to scribble things on the screen. The 5mx is excellent for that. The S-E P-series quite good as well.

krisse The N800's touchscreen also has excellent contrast, although it's not technically a cellular phone. It's very readable, there's less glare than on most LCD screens.

Someone managed to make a copy of the iPhone's keyboard for the N800 recently, and someone else made an N800 version of its "kinetic" scrolling menu too.

It seems that user interfaces are no longer entirely in the hands of the manufacturers, users with a certain amount of technical knowledge can shape the interface themselves. That could bring a huge range of unofficial UIs into existence, which has to be a good thing as not everyone wants the same kind of interface.

martinharnevie May we then hope for a touch-screen version of E90/E9x, now that both iPhone and the P1i have demonstrated that the era is over when touch-screens implied reduced contrast?

Then I would get one.

The iPhone makeover for S60 3rd Edition?

The sounds you hear are S60 UI-creator Christian Lindholm having a heart attack and the thunder of the feet of Apple's lawyers. Darla's been reviewing iTheme for S60 - more than a simple theme, it's a Flash 2.0 replacement for the standby and menu screens. A cool use of Flash, but I'm not letting it near any of my devices...
