N95!

I really dont like this phone. for the price you pay for it, its absolute rubbish. My one has been sent back 3 times for repair. it constantly restarts itself. battery is crap. No matter how many times ive updated it it wont work correctly. The price of this phone is unbelievable in Australia. Amd nokia cant even guarantee good software for it... Ive always liked nokia's. Wont be getting another nokia for a LONG time..

Er.... (cough) you do know that the pop-up list of 3 icons is SCROLLABLE?

Convergence is a Myth - still.

Just goes to show you, "convergence" is the still unfound Holy Grail of personal electronics. The N95 is yet another quest that ends with a good stomping by the giant bare foot from the sky.

The best bet is still a "boring" E-series phone, iPod, slim digital camera, and personal navigator (e.g. TomTom One). And a nice bag for carrying all of this.

N trouble..

Check this weird thing..

Flipping N93 around to clamshell mode seems good enough. You remember before when you did it (before update..) you´d be staring at yourself? But guess what??

I notice sometimes while pressing menu key to check apps it shows 3 apps running.. and then when I close one.. the camera icon pops-up out of no where! I had wondered up to that point why the battery was draining so fast. I miss my 9300i cuz it showed all.

Also bt and wifi have me a little worried too. 9300i and now N93 got/get pretty hot when surfing or when using bt hf earpiece running music non-stop for an hour.

Any comments?

whatleydude I'm SO Glad I'm not the only one to notice the missing keypress thing - annoying for fast typers/power users!

I actually defaulted to my BT keyboard yesterday - it was annoying me that much.

avithe1 Hey Steve,

Just got my N95 with v11.
Am quiet happy with the phones performance.

I am confused about upgrading the firmware after reading about the bugs, do you recommend upgrading to v12 or should I wait?

tatoo1000 Another bug. Screensaver crashes frequently and the phone becomes very slow, until a message pops up and tells me so. I press ok and everything goes on, but it happens at least twice a day.

I like to install everything again after a FW update. It keeps the phone cleaner of unwanted files of tested and uninstalled apps.

I really like my N95, specially since I can use MailforExchange. I can live with the bugs and the hope that every FW update will solve some of them.

I really like reading Steve’s comments, but since I only own a N95 (my old 7610 is on my wife’s hands now) I don’t have nothing to compare it to, so I am very happy with my N95.

Keep up the good work, I am sure that Nokia hear and read everything you post and we comment.

N95 on t-mobile firmware update to v12???

I can't get the firmware update to v12 yet on my N95, is there anywhere I can download it from or do I just have to hope it comes up on nokia's phone software updater soon?

Yes, perhaps we will all have bought iPhones instead.

To be honest I think my previous comments were a little unfair. The N95 is a complex device and there is a lot that can go wrong.

By comparison "cable TV" is much simpler, yet the software on my cable TV system is the worst I have ever used. Tried to order a movie to watch last night. I got as far as paying for the film but since then I've have been unable to get it to play and half the time it tells me I have "No movies purchased". It's a complete joke.

Good point. An 12" Dual Core notebook, 1Gb Ram, and 120Gb disk for 800 - 900€. Same price than E90
Because the same with 15,4", can have a price around 550€.
About E61i, seems a good phone!

luarvique Comment: "Personally I won't be buying an N95 until they get the software right. In another 6 months, maybe..."

In another 6 months, they will be flooding browsers, streets, newspapers, and TV channels with advertisements for another latest and greatest model. N95 will be long forgotten by then.

No more v12 firmware update?

Is it true that NSU doesn't show up a new firmware? I know for the ones updated already it is not possible to obtain this information, but does someone have this info somehow?

dinan Aye... the keypress bug is EXTREMELY annoying. Particularly when entering login/password information in the web browser... it's driving me insane!
