Bassey Out of all the current crop of S60 phones, this and the 5500 are definitely my favourites at the moment. I couldn't give a flying fig about having a digital camera (and even less about a camcorder) built in to my phone but these little devices look perfect. Stick a decent sized memory card in and it looks just the job for an every day phone that can take a few knocks but still get the job done.

Rafe Not every phone can be top of the range. Much like the 3250 I imagine this will sell well as it is really a mid range phone. 350 euros / 230 punds is good as a price point, especially for what you get (3g, qvga screen, 2 mp camera, etc etc).

I too, am a big fan of hardware switches. I always liked the idea of the 3250, but the thickness and small screen resolution were off putting. Much better this time round.

Having FP1 is a definite plus. The 5700 is the sort of phone I'd recommend to non techie friends who weren't after the Nseries stuff (or put off by price), but still wanted a decent phone.

krisse "The functions are simple, twist for pictures, twist for music. They wouldnt have to dig deep into menus to activate those functions."

That's a good point... You'd be amazed how difficult some people can find using a phone nowadays, anything that makes it more intuitive is probably a good idea.

Dr Tran quadband too

With feature pack 1's ability to have big fonts, you could get this for your parents.

The functions are simple, twist for pictures, twist for music. They wouldnt have to dig deep into menus to activate those functions.

krisse "hmm... can't see any new feature in this one.."

Yeah... I think this is mainly intended to be a design alternative to Nseries models. Nseries usually look very grey and technical, this is far more colourful and sporty.

The one big improvement over the 3250 is the addition of 3G, which means you can use the twistable camera to make videophone calls as well as take pictures.

krisse It looks like a cross between the 5300 and the 3250...

I prefer the 5300 myself, but this does look good when it's been twisted round to MP3 player mode:
