The W950 is a truly hifi quality device - which you only discover if you use hifi quality headphones and use AAC encoding. Its not really just another MP3 player....

The latest organizer version is R4A11 (available from Jan 13).
Per comments on some other forums (fora?) this update may have significantly changed your phone's performance relative to memory management, app shut down and phone lock-up for the positive.
