krisse The N95 release date is an interesting point, it would certainly be a nice thing to show off there.

According to the document that Nokia unintentionally posted on one of their websites (and which AAS did an exclusive story about), the beta dev kits for the next gen games were delivered in July 2006, with the final version due out in December 2006.

As most N-gage games took about 6 months to a year to create, on a similar schedule we could expect the first next gen games any time in the first half of 2007, so it does seem likely that we'll see a stream of announcements about next gen games both before and after GDC Mobile.

badger Well, as we know Nokia will relaunch the ngage brand in early 2007, March would be a good time to be showing off this new playform? Play more

The n95 will also be hitting the shops within a few weeks (hopefully) of this date and as we are aware, it has the advanced grahpics chip so should have the ability to play the games developed for the new platform.

All that is needed is a dedicated gaming device (and a few more nSeries, which should have been announced by then) to arrive and Nokia will be able to turn on the Download portal/New version of Arena.

Expect announcments from developers (EA? Ideaworks3D?) around games for Nokias new gaming platform.

Nokia to sponsor Game Developers Conference Mobile 2007

Nokia is going to be one of the main sponsors of GDC Mobile, the phone game part of the Game Developers Conference. GDC and GDC Mobile take place in San Francisco on the 5th to the 7th of March 2007. Nokia's Next Generation gaming platform is due to launch some time in the first half of 2007, so a March sponsorship of a major gaming event is well-timed.
