N/A The MS/Novell "teaming up" doesn't seem to be as good as many think. At least these folks are not appreciating it much:

Gooing open with java is what sun needs to shine

This is just what Sun needed, look even b$ll had to take and team microsoft up with novell, as a result of pc-bsd being adopted by ixsystems.
Good for Java, and the people, bad for the man.

Sun open sources Java ME

Sun has open sourced various parts of Java under a GPL 2 license. Included within this is a buildable version of Sun's Java ME implementation. Also open sourced is the Java ME testing and compatibility framework. Sun are hoping to speed up the development and evolution of the Java platform and say that opne sourcing the language will help drive down development costs and reduce fragemtation.
