Perhaps location has alot todo with this ?

In very general terms the worst offenders are USA based - the best European based which rather follows the current focus those parts of the world have on climate change....

So perhaps its as much an educational thing as anything else... oh shut up of course its not its $$$$

Bassey I'm fully aware Apple are a "Big" company as well. But, whereas Microsoft concentrate on marketing saturation, Apple have always pushed the "Brand Image". Seems strange that a company so image obessed have missed such a huge trick in this.

Orophin Anwarunya Apple arent exactly the saits people make them out to be just cos' they compare them with big evil microsoft megacorp superkiller. FYI Apple are a a big megacorp too and arent above the same business practices if it cuts costs.

So dont be suprised if they are down there with the worst offender in the GREEN chart. Snazzy hardware, audio player and OS doesnt translate into "we love our planet".

Bassey Apple was a HUGE surprise to me. For a company so obsessed with image to have such an awful record on a subject many people are begining to take notice of seems bizare. With a lot of the others at the bottom they were being let down in one or two areas, but it looks like Apple just haven't given the subject any thought ("Scored poorly in all areas" says the report).

krisse I see Nokia got top marks for green-ness, but Apple was waaaaay down near the bottom despite their hippie roots...

The worst company by far was Lenovo, the Chinese PC maker who recently bought IBM's computer business.

How Green Is Your Mobile?

Greenpeace have released the Green Electronics Guide , a look at how enviromentally friendly companies are with their electronic products. Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Motorola all feature in the report, which is based on global policies, the volumes of harmful chemicals in the product and how well the companies handle discarded units at the end of their consumer life.
