N/A Y-browser will not show the contents of any private/protected directory for you or anybody else (it does not have the, so called AllFiles capability/privilege required for that).

lovat Quanta,
EXACTLY how did you get Y-browser to show the private directories?

I have been beating my head on the wall, and it will not do it for me.

Help?!?

zeata Y-Browser is the best file manager for 3rd edition so far, but I wouldn't call it a full filemanager utility. On contrary to what is said in the news article it does not give you any access to system folders such as sys and private and only limited access to resource folder.

What I find slightly confusing is that sometimes there is no error when you try to perfom an illegal operation, for example remove a file in resource/apps. The operation is simply not done although there is progress bar and everything.

Full S60 3rd Edition file manager - and it's free!

Yay! Geeks around the world rejoice, there's now a full file manager utility for S60 3rd Edition, giving you full fiddling access to system folders and the like. Y-Browser is also freeware, so it's a double celebration. Hats off to Jukka Silvennoinen!

Read on in the full article.
