AV Companies

Well, lets face it, AV companies prosper only by FUD.
Basically, they can only detect what they know about, so if a new virus comes out, they may only be able to deal with it long after you have been infected (this happens with a lot of the mafor worms...)
Theres a compelling arguement that the process AV software uses to detect viruses is just plain wrong.
Also there is questionable practices by most of them, such as the times when there is a new mass email virus, and I receive 300+ emails from AV software telling me I'm infected (impressive since Linux doesn't get Windows viruses)

Al3xandr3 I can't believe why:

1) Nokia doesn't stand for it's symbian Os. I know there's more brands, but Nokia, is certainly the more visible and the one who can lose more.

2) how can we know taht this virus-hype isn't made by anti virus companies to sell their products?

Jejoma Call me thick but I followed the link and it's all about the Palm OS. I scoured the site but could find no mention of Symbian!

Is this virus flu contagious :-)

Masamune You could not be more wrong Steve. I put a copy of the antivirus software on my 9300, lent to a friend for a couple of hours and when I got it back I came down with a nasty case of flu.
