Aficion al email móvil

Hola.

Saludos.

Cant stream multi res. video

Hi,
It was disappointed, that e61 can only play/stream limited video resolution. It cant play the recorded video from my nokia 6280 (640 x 480) and cant play/stream most video on the net like from BBC and others. I tried to play video from www . liputan6 . com (please remove the space between dots) with res 200 x 160, but only audio can be streamed.
Strange but true (truely shame, for this sophisticated device)
Just fyi, I upgraded my e61 to the latest firmware available (3.0633.09.04) and the same thing still exist.

I hope nokia can do something..., or maybe anyone have the solution?

With lot of disappoint

Game Over Man

Here in the states, we have had many attempts to simulate and "beat" the Blackberry. As a long time BB user, I have always looked for a simple, efficient, hassle free BUT cheap way of interacting with my Exchange server. The web client on the BB is nice, but is limited. I have no desire to pay the $$$ for enterprise server. With SP2 on Exchange and Windows Mobile 5, I thought my dreams were answered; NOT! I have tried many solutions with limited success; including Exhcange's direct push technology, Cingular's Personal Xpress mail client and Verizon's client on a dedicated computer on my domain. Then I see the E61, liked its look and the reviews. I didn't buy it as my "dream phone for e-mail", but as a "toy". Boy, was I surprised. Fantastic. When I saw "Mail for Exchange" in the install folder, I said what is this?? Installed it, launched, put in my settings, was asked to verify my certificate and was off and running. I now have what I have been looking for, in an incredibly well built (much better built than the Motorola Q), ergonomically fantastic phone with the best reception, best sounding voice features I have ever used. This is the phone for me; and I got it unlocked at much more reasonable prices than its competitors. Just waiting for my Covertec case and will be ready to conquer the world!

E61 with Goodlink

Link any of the new Nokia E Series with Good (www.roadtowork.com), and they become infinately superior to Blackberry and true business communication tools. Superb!

sabesh Not sure why everyone's getting excited over Blackberry Connect (BBC). I've used BBC on UIQ & Palm and I always had to "pause" the BBC app to access other GPRS services like web browsing alternate email servers, newsreaders etc etc. I find it quite inconvenient.

That being said, I'm looking forward to IMAP email with IDLE support. This sort of push email is a better alternative to BBC. Cheers.

Strong clues from Nokia that May 2006 is the month for the E61

First published at weblog.andrewgrill.com Visit this site to get all the links mentioned below.

If, like me you have been waiting for the release of the new Nokia E61 smartphone, then perhaps May 2006 is the month we will see it released.

There are a number of clues that the launch is imminent...

The nokiaforbusiness.com website has the E61 listed instead of 'coming soon' (which it was last week with only the E60 as available). See also here where the E61 gets it's own menu tab!

There is now an E61 support page, and you can download the manual. Nokia are even offering a copy of worldmate for the E61.

I run Goodlink (provided by FastHosts in the UK) as my push email client, and their UK Sales Director also told me in an email last week that the E61 launch was "imminent".

Mobilebee.com (US site) finally have the availability of the E61 down to single digit days, and expansys.com have the E61 on their coming soon list at £389.95.

So....hopefully the unit will be available very soon. I can't wait to get my hands on it and install the new Goodlink version for the E61.

Fingers crossed!

Microsoft Active Sync not mentioned in the E61 manual

Eagerly awaiting the E61 to arrive - played with it extensively at various booths at 3GSM in Barcelona. Read the manual refered to at the FCC link extensively - no mention of Microsoft ActiveSync - just IMAP/POP.

Perhaps this will be included in the production release?

I run a hosted exchange service with my local webhosting company and they have Exchange 2003 SP2 which has the ActiveSync 'push email' functionality but it requires the phone to also support it.

Anyone else the wiser on ActiveSync suppport out of the box?

It works nicely

The phone was shown in Barcelona 3GSMWorld. The browser was excellent with javascript, visual history, zooming (50% shows all and is still readable). The phone itself was flat (lower part very flat / 14 mm is the thicker upper part) and wlan provides a fast connection.
Mp3 player, flash player, open/edit: pdf, ppt, xls, doc, zip etc ok. 3G works fast when no wlan available. All email standards are supported. External indicator for new email. All the usual PDA stuff: calendar with reminders, contacts, tasks as in all S60 phones. S60 seemed to be the newest version (3). Synch to outlook or via syncml.
Design: I *like* this silver and flat style... Real metal covers give a nice touch compared to black plastics.

Not $800...

Don't know if things have changed, but when the E-series was announced, Nokia estimated price for the phones would be 400-450 Euros (SIM-free, pre-VAT). I presume the E60 would be on the cheaper end, and the E71 on the more expensive (given the larger keyboard & camera).
