Got my N8 yesterday and so far loving it..

Just thinking about a potential business proposition - can someone (including Nokia) design and start selling a Docking station that can attach a monitor using the HDMI port and also attach a 4 port USB hub so that you can plug in everything else.

Would be so awesome and pretty much a replacement for a laptop.. :) Definitely buy one!

Today, I went down to the largest IT shopping area in my city. To my amazement, half of the shops there are selling some sort of iPhone, iPad accessories. It's just plain madness because whatever happen to variety and diversity. So many different docking stations featuring the iPhone/iPod proprietary plug.
That moment, it just hit me that Nokia N97 and now the N8 use all open interfaces like mini-usb, 2.5mm AV jack (which was requested by Nokia phone users for years) that 3rd party manufacturers got nothing to add-on and shun product development for N-series ?
N8 has the HDMI and USB position quite far apart so it might be difficult to develop a clean one plug dock for it. Also C7, E7 has the sockets at different places. I think Nokia should standardise from S3 onwards.

But the really fun part would be : a easy remote + a HDMI dock with split options for SPDIF Dolby and Video + firmware update to get more HD formats. All these gadgets shops will suddenly have a very compelling reason to sell N8 as a media player.
