I contacted Vodafone support to ask when they'd be approving the v3 firmware for the E72.

This is the reponse I got:

"I'm sorry to inform you that we can't comment on the exact date when we will approve the firmware update version."

:-(

That was on Tuesday of this week.

Anyone else heard anything different from Vodafone?

Would love to get the v3 fw to see if the latest Ovi Maps will run on it (crashes on v2).

Not sure. I believe it all depends on your phone's Product Code.

I've been checking Sofwtare Update on the E72 and the update utility in Ovi Suite regularly for the past few weeks - no report of any v3 firmware release.

You could always de-brand your phone if you are desperate for v31 - only downside is debranding voids your warranty :-(
