I've been a nokia 5800 owner since Jan. I'm mostly happy with this phone. I'm due an upgrade soon from orange and I am considering getting a nokia N97.

Is it worth the upgrade from a 5800? Other than voice and texts, I use my phone for personal email (using nokia messaging), music and some personal PIM (calendar, notes and todo). I don't use the camera much though i might do if I had a decent one in the phone!

So what do you think guys? Is it worth the upgrade?

I would say it depends on whether you want to wait for the next best thing to come along - you could go onto a retention tariff for 12months and Nokia I'm sure will have brought out either a new model or a N97 capacitive, or N97 48gb or something like that. (its what I did with my N95 - had it for almost 2years and saw N95 8GB and N96 come out in the time I could've upgraded!)

The 5800 is good (from my limited 5mins of play with it) but the N97 is basically the same thing at face value when closed, its only when you open it up you realise its completely different - better screen, camera, more memory etc. I think the only thing the 5800 does better - is to have a stylus in the frame of the phone - this is severly lacking from the N97.

Camera - shouldn't really need another one again unless you are into photography, all the photos I've taken over the last couple of years have been from my N95 and will now be N97!
