The SIM free firmware usually gets updated a long time before the operator firmware. Otherwise, everyone who has a N97 won't be getting the firmware update. Otherwise, the Emulator won't be able to find/load JAF and you'll need to uninstall/reinstall JAF again. sjohn 01-07-2009, 05:48 PM This game lets you control a Ferrari and drive it really fast. The cars in this game are all Ferrari's, and the different racing modes and your girlfriend makes things very interesting, while the online leaderboard gives the game a competitive edge Berty 01-07-2009, 07:02 PM Just had a scary half hour but now I got the new model code and new firmware updated over the NSU, thanks for the tips on this forum guys. Accu Weather still takes forever to load if at all!!! Bluetooth connection to PC Suite seems to work now. Anyone know about ViOP, internet calls etc? Not available? bowman 01-07-2009, 07:08 PM Well I still have the keylock problem. Changed my product code and updated the phone no problem but the keylock problem is still there. I really don't want to have to format and set the phone up again as it took about 6 hours to do the first time. Guess I have no choice. ironass 01-07-2009, 08:17 PM just changed product code to 0570817. Used to do this on my n95 also done it on my gf's 5800. Never had any problems before. Looking forward to new firmware! Unable to download the firmware. Anyone else having problems? I changed my product code and then found that I could not download it through OVI which told me that my V10 software was uptodate. I then used the PcC Suite and lo and behold it said that there was an update. However after updating the phone is just flashing an intermittent white screen at me. Does anyone know of a way to reboot the phone. Something similar to the 3 key Vulcan Death Grip of the N95 would be good. :con? Updated to v11 fw but still have the same keylock bug but what about something else that's been fixed in v11? nyqon 01-07-2009, 10:09 PM Anyone know if there are any other obvious bugs from the v10 fw that I can check for before I do a complete reformat? Updated to v11 fw but still have the same keylock bug but what about something else that's been fixed in v11? The keylock is much better now. v10 you had to toggle it 3 times. v11, it happens occasionaly (not enough to annoy) and when it does you only toggle twice. Other fixes aren't obvious. The Images and Videos library updating correctly may be. Besides that its just performance. Clicks go through first try, navigating through menus and finger scrolling on websites are quicker. Video playback is slightly better. Overall good upgrade, a must really. But this is what N97 should've been at launch. bowman 01-07-2009, 10:24 PM The keylock is much better now. v10 you had to toggle it 3 times. v11, it happens occasionaly (not enough to annoy) and when it does you only toggle twice. Mine took 2 attempts with v10 and it's exactly the same now with v11, that's why I figured I might have to just reformat and start fresh. Phew, really didn't want to start again. And it does seem quicker so overall I'm happy. ;) ironass 02-07-2009, 12:19 AM you could try holding keys down to see if you can try and fine a 3 kay format, no 1 has found it yet tho but it must exist, if there is a hard foemat via 3 key and boot then im sure all these bricked fones will be ok. Thanks Biggzy... that should keep me out of mischief for awhile. :) Halon 02-07-2009, 01:59 AM What a palaver. Having paid full retail for SIM free I didn't expect to have to change the product code to get new firmware on the release date! I'm not business minded, but having seen all the countries that were eligible for the update with their native codes today I'm yet again wondering what Nokia is thinking by leaving the UK out. PaulyLaw 02-07-2009, 01:58 PM Guys! Seriously! We're talking about a couple of days. You're risking bricking your brand new five hundred quid phone cos you cant wait a couple of days for the UK release. I have myself changed product codes on phones before but only to get rid of stupid operator branding. Just to get a firmware update a few days early seems kinda silly to me. I'll just hang on :-) On a separate note, just why does the UK version take longer? OK I understand that it needs approval for the local version but if all the other versions got approved for the launch why not the UK one? Anyway, still wouldnt risk bricking my phone! Mike.mp 02-07-2009, 05:18 PM I want more languages. This is my reason. Any info about widgets coming for different regions? Will old one stay after flashing? theshocker 02-07-2009, 05:53 PM i'm surprised no one has asked this yet, but does this firmware increase the amount of free ram on startup? Also does updating the firmwaree wipe the 32gb mass storage or just the phone memory? Mike.mp 02-07-2009, 06:22 PM It doesn't wipe anything. All your files will stay. some one said he had 53 mb after flashing. Then i bought mine, it has 27 mb or something like that. Mike.mp 02-07-2009, 10:52 PM ok, after flashing v11 fw, nothing changed. still got same amount of free memory. Mike.mp 03-07-2009, 06:34 AM Ok I installed fw for Russian region and DOT moved to letter X :). Some symbessibols gone, but acessible through Sym buttonn. Most Alt buttons do different thing. seki 03-07-2009, 08:52 AM i'm surprised no one has asked this yet, but does this firmware increase the amount of free ram on startup? Also does updating the firmwaree wipe the 32gb mass storage or just the phone memory? all user data & settings intact. It only updates the system / included application files. :) |
