Hi All .. in the search for a free offline GPS/Mapping solution I went back to an old fave from N95 days .. MGMaps http://www.mgmaps.com/

I downloaded and installed the Development 1.40 and newer (its 1.42 something) for N95 e90 etc ..

I'm using Live Maps or Yahoo Maps .. Google Maps aren't available now.

Live Maps give me the detail I need .. if you use it in offline mode you can roam about the world using the GPS to happily locate yourself.

Why not use Nokia Maps? .. well frankly the resolution for Japan (were I visit from time to time) sucks badly .. For New Zealand its ok .. but there you go! Another bit of software to try out.

Try the free ones: Nav4all and Amaze GPS.

Have you given them a go yourself on the N97?

On N97 no, but on 5800, yes, and both work well.
