Is it better than the N96? -valerebel mru 19-01-2009, 08:27 PM I experienced a better wifi signal than with my Nokia 9500 and a much better signal than with my SE P1i. The singal strength is essentially the same as with my Netgear USB-WIFI. Can't compare it to a N96 though. Rafe 19-01-2009, 09:22 PM Probably better than the N96, but there's not a lot in it. gauravjaitely 05-02-2009, 05:53 AM Nokia 5800 sould be a better speed prvides you compare of n 96. bazzajc 05-02-2009, 09:20 PM After much odd looks from the neighbours with me walking about with 4 mobiles in shorts in the snow I can (hopefully) help you out. With a N82, N95 8 gig, N96 and 5800 I can post the following results. With a Belkin wifi router installed in a media room under the stairs, the N82 dropped first at (all approx) 20 metres. N96 died at 28-30 metres. N95 30-32 metres and the 5800 about the same 30-32 metres. This is all a real setting and very very cold. No nearby networks. Not much interference as its on an outside wall. Rafe 05-02-2009, 09:55 PM May I just say I'm really impressed by your dedication! Thanks for sharing. bazzajc 05-02-2009, 09:57 PM pleasure - just got warmed legs again! damn that snow - now ive got the 5800, im selling the others so all were charged up (for once - pics for ebay!) dlrpsteve 06-02-2009, 08:36 AM Any pictures of your investigation? :D My 5800 gets a stronger wi-fi signal than my iPod Touch, very impressive. |
