I have just been out in the sun and noticed the first few specs of dust under the screen. (I have been really careful with it so far and it seems like it is inevitable to get dust under there)

Can we use this thread as a reference point for any tips or solutions people may come up with or hear about?

Thanks

U know, I still don´t understand where´s the "hole"? Could someone clarify that? Thanks in an advanced way.

Slide the phone open and then look down the back of the screen. :)

The dust doesn't come inside form the hole in the back but from the screen edges

I used air compressor in the hole back of the screen, but the dust continous there.
Nothing happened. :(

You might consider keeping the phone in a soft pouch, a phone-sock so to speak. I have one that came with my N93. It really keeps your phone in perfect condition, no scratches, unless you drop it of course ;+)

I've always kept my smartphones in a pouch, and always had excellent value when I sold them after a year, because they were always (virtually) scratch-free. I'm sure it will protect the i8510 against dust as well as it will protect it from scratches.

^^^^^thanks for the tip, but i think we're all basically looking for a permanent solution. This problem is such a disapointment for a flagship phone. Samsung have now known about the problem for a month or more, but nothing has yet been done. Possibly need to find a way to block the entrances for dust. Does anyone know whether Samsung are offering repacements? I know the phone shops are but no the same model, I mean a revised model with the problem solved. (sorry for the long post  )

Can anyone recommend a phone pouch that fits the i8510 nicely? And a place to get it, either in the high street on online? Maybe CPW should provide one for free?

A search on phone pouch on ebay.co.uk gives you plenty of choice.

Just don't see why we should have to consider pouches when Samsung should have had a simple issue like this locked down from the first day of production. I'm sure they tackled far greater tasks when designing the phone in comparison to making the screen dust proof. It really is a joke when this was meant to be their flagship model. Shame as the rest of it seems really well put together. I'm grateful for all who have suggested the various pouches, just a little pi**ed that we should even have to consider quarantining our phone from the rigours of life in a pocket....

Anyways, rant over, I'm off for a beer.

I've noticed the dust in my screen is mainly appearing at the top right of the screen, and migrating it's way down from there.

I'm quietly fkn seething about it. This shouldn't happen to a phone of this calibre.

Samsung better be replacing the dodgy models......
