I have just upgraded to an N96 from a N95 and i have noticed the camera pictures it takes arnt as good as the N95.
With the N95 i have noticed if the room is darkish then the pictures it takes are dark even with flash and hardly any colour.
With the N95 when i take a picture in the dark it snaps the picture at the correct time the flash goes off then it processes the picture and comes up clear and bright with a good clear picture.
Has anyone else found this problem or could my camera on mine be faulty.

you'll need to wait a bit .. the N95's camera sucked at first but after a few firmware revisions got better and better ..
Give it a chance .. your N96's have a few wrinkles in there to get out .. in 6 months or so it'll be a great device.

BTW I am reasonably happy with the performance of the n85's camera with standard firmware .. it will be interesting when it gets its first decent upgrade in a month or so ...:)

For N96, PR1.1 software improves camera performance a lot in sharpness, and PR1.2 will deliver a number of other image quality fixes for still imaging and video.

Is this a flash update or a software program you download and install on phone.

i dont get how nokia can fix the problems in the N95 to get the cam ok, but then its crap in the N96 which is a new device.. why not carry over the fixes done on the N95 to N96

I agree by the way, I have both N95 and N96, and the n96 struggles greatly to take a stable image at the best of times, motion blur is a MAJOR problem!

I think the image senser is not the same and smaller on n96 compared to n95's
