I'm thoroughly enjoying using the I8510, despite a few very tiny bugs, and all due credit to Samsung, these bugs are far less than other "Day 1" shipping products. Overall the device has performed extremely well.

Still, i'm having what might well be a HW problem, whereby the shutter occassionally gets into a bad state, and wont open.... anyone else seen this?

Haven't had any problem like that with mine. I think the lens cover is a problem waiting to happen as it's so flimsy but so far nothing like the symptom you describe.

Yes I have had this problem, when one day the lens cover would not open when I turned the camera on. It was affected by the tiniest bit of fluff from my pocket, so be careful where you place your phone. Personally I am looking for a cover for my phone, to give it extra protection.

I've noticed that giving the thing a good blast of canned air seriously improves the operation.

I have the opposite problem; my lens cover won't close! At least I can still take pictures, but my lens will get pretty dusty! Will be taking it back to cpw today..
