OK,

Twice while putting my E71 into my holster it has spoken to me!
Saying "You have no new messages".
I was in the home screen (active standby) when putting into the holster....
Is there a short cut key for voice aid that must be being pressed or what??
I think maybe it is living it's own life....

Yes if you hold down the left select key for a second it will read out any new messages. Hold down the right selection key for a second and it activates voice dialing.

is there any way to get rid of this function? happens quite a lot when i don't want it to...

Lock your keypad prior to putting phone in holster?

it happens when I lock it. so I press the left button then the * and it thinks I've held down the left button. and because it is then locked there's no way of pressing stop! very annoying. I'm guessing there's no way to get rid of it then?
