Hi,

Symbian newbie here (ex Palm/Clié+plain Nokia)... with a slight whiff of desperation and a request for help:

My E51 had a product code for Asia (558469), which I wanted to change to Euro2, because I need English and German all the time. I followed the steps found this forum for product code updating, but the phone, though accepting the code update, doesn't care about the requested language pack.

What I did step by step:


uninstalled current version of Nokia PC Suite
installed old PC Suite from CD
backed up E51
opened Nemesis NSS
clicked magnifying glass
clicked phone info
entered code 0546184 (Euro2)
clicked enable, then write - done
opened Nokia Software Updater
NSU recognised phone, but said "no new software to update - bye"


NSS recognises the new product as 0546184, but the language pack has not changed. I assume it happened because NSU doesn't update the phone.

I realise I can be exceedingly stupid, but I thought I could at least follow written directions - possibly wrong...

Where did I get stuck, and what can I do now?
