Hi there folks

Rec my e90 today, as an upgrade with Voda.

However, firstly, I wish to use my orange sim with the phone but when i put the sim in the phone says 'sim not registed' ??? it works fine in other phones? how can i get the phone unlocked?

Secondly, does anyone know where i can buy a cover for the phone from?

many thanks

Never tried them before but usually mobile phone accessory shops and market stalls do them for about £10. Also, there are people who do it online as well. Again, I've never tried them.

I was going to switch to O2 and get one for £129 but when I asked for my PAC code, Voda said they might be able to do me a freebie and so I might stay.

Does anyone know about ugrading the firmware on Voda locked phones? Does it need to be unlocked first or does it need to be a specific Voda release?

I'd like to know how you get on with your Voda version.

The good thing is , Vodafone are probably (IME) one of the best networks for supplying codes themselves - so IIRC you could phone CS and Vodafone would supply the unlock code for £15 IIRC (no risk either )

I have not had a Nokia for a few months(till I got my E90) - so I am not sure what the score is for "home" unlocking , I beleive there was a DIY BB5 unlocker knocking around when I had my N95 ... but it was limited to a few models &I did not have the right cable anyway

If it were me , I'd ring Vodafone :)

You can change firmware without unlocking the Phone , It would have to be Vodafone UK firmware , unless you change the product code to the version of your choice

There is a thread that explains how to do this on this site - but it is not without risk , If you are not prepared to lose your device then don't try it ! (chances are you will be fine , but the risk is real nonetheless )
