I went to a Nokia Flagship store yesterday to handle a E90 for the feel of it. It is beautifully made! I was most impressed though, by how it can serve the web independent of the phone with its WIFI.

My question is, is this the same features that the 9300i and 9500 have? I'm asking here since many of you are experts in the communicator line.

I myself is still using a 9290. I like the size. I can't yet afford a E90. IF someone can confirm that either or both the 9300i and the 9500 can serve the web (i have wireless broadband) independent of the phone service and the computer, I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks!

E90's WiFi is independent of mobile network provider. But it depends on any available WLAN access point. It may be a home or business WLAN, or it may be a hotspot anywhere.

Yes, I did experience the wonder E90's WIFI, which is why I'm hoping to get an answer about whether the older 9500 and the 9300i 's WIFI is equally capable, or whether they (9500 and 9300i) can only be used as a WIFI modem for laptop. Perhaps my question wasn't too clear, but maybe no one uses 9500 and 9300i any more.....?

S60 phones cannot be used as modems on laptop by using WiFi. At least not yet...

The 9300i can use web through wifi but its slow and the browser does not render as well as the E90 (but you can select text and dial numbers directly on the page)
