View Full Version : TipicME: Having trouble with ICQ? simply258 15-01-2003, 10:44 PM Anyone other than me having trouble accessing their ICQ list with TipicME ? I'm able to access MSN and Yahoo (don't have AOL account). tiger42 15-01-2003, 11:33 PM I had trouble with my Yahoo account. I suddenly had no more access to it. Nothing I tried to solve this problem had any success. Only after I created a completely new account on the Tipic server everything worked fine again. Never had any trouble with ICQ though. tiger42 15-01-2003, 11:37 PM I forgot to say: My problems had nothing to do with TipicME itself. Using the Windows client I was also not able to fix the problem. Perhaps your problem is also Tipic server related? simply258 16-01-2003, 12:08 AM So you'd think I should create a new Tipic account? I'll try that simply258 16-01-2003, 12:44 AM Ok I just discovered it signs me into ICQ but I am not able to see my contacts. I knew this because while having my ICQ client on, I signed into Tipic and it signed me out of the ICQ client saying it's being used on a different computer. tiger42 16-01-2003, 01:20 AM That's ok then! Getting the ICQ contacts from the ICQ server is just not supported (with AIM this doesn't work either). You have to add your contacts manually, then it should work. Btw I have noticed that you must not rename any of the contacts! For some strange reason it is not possible to see their online status then... simply258 16-01-2003, 01:36 AM I renamed my contacts and I can still see their status. Maybe you renamed the wrong field. You rename the last one (I think its called Nickname) but it's the last one out of 3 fields. Theran 16-01-2003, 04:36 AM Yes. I am sure there are something going wrong with Tipic server itself. Sometimes I get MSN and not icq or vice versa. Actually if you notices, it also doesnt work 24hrs. Maybe Tipic could explain on that. |
