Been looking for this app for a while now without any luck :icon13:
I talked to SE support, Sony support, SE support, and here we go.
Bottom line is, this little piece off software, should be on the 512 MMS in the box, but my phone is before the release of Locationfree for P990, September 2006.
Dose any of you guys, happens to have the app, I would be very very happy to have a copy

Sony never made the software available. I have been following the site weekly since the press release and I can guarantee that it is not available anywhere, period. In fact, I recently read on another site that they are considering cancelling location free for the P990 due to firmware issues.:frown:

What country did you find it under? I've looked everywhere since the day they announced it.
Cheers,

The birthday is over, and I can’t get the phone to see P990.
I can connect the LF base to my laptop, my PSP, connect to LF base, and surf the net, but not my P990, it says that there is no base station in setup mode available, and that sucks.
What version of firmware do you guys use on your p990 and your LF base station?

If you can run down the set up process it'll be great!!

I have now updated firmware on both devices, but I still can’t connect the p990 to rather the Internet trough the LF station or to the LF software on P990.
Do u actually have the setup working?:con?

Yeeeees, I am spinning, this is so cool, 42 channels on the road, it rocks, and actually I don’t think the picture quality is so bad when it comes to it, I am really impressed...:icon14:

I see some people manage to get the P990 working with the LF-PK1.

Is the base station in this case the European of the US model?

I purchased the LF-PK1 in the US and the P990 I have is from Europe.

The version of the firmware of the base station is 2.00 and when I try
to update it, it says that it is the latest already.

Finally on the P990 I have the Symbian player 1.00 and in the SE web site
I can't find any updated version.

Connectivity is fine, but I get an error:

Registration has been denied by the Base Station. This phone cannot be registered with the target Base Station.

I got the error too:
Registration has been denied by the Base Station. This phone cannot be registered with the target Base Station.

Searching Sony's support site, I sadly found the following:
Knowledge Article C505080
Unable to bind a Sony Ericsson™ P990i phone to a LocationFree® base station.
LocationFree Player® software available on the Sony® Europe Web site that allows the Sony Ericsson™ P990i phone to bind with a LocationFree® Base Station is not compatible with and will not bind to Sony U.S. LocationFree Base Stations. LocationFree Player software compatible with U.S. base station models may be available in the future on [the Sony esupport website].

Just so other people know: Be careful with installing LocationFree Player, it's one of those programs that don't seem to uninstall properly.

I talked to SE support, Sony support, SE support, and here we go.

well atleast you alked to support. I tried to call them and send may mails and reminders for some issues (to Sony India - support),
on phone they say they will revert back mail - they go on asking basic deatils - my model no. to state problem again etc.. but finally no reply on sending all details.
