First of all I just bought P990i and immediately updated to latest firmware before even tryin to use it :)

But I have some questions about some issues I have with the device:

1) The status light is not blinking like it did with my previous P910i. It is not malfunctioning I think because it lights up green constantly when charging and blinks green on incoming sms. Also it blinks red when the battery is low. But thats it. It doesnt blink in standby. Is this normal?

2) Music player has a strange noise in the background when playing the tracks. You can notice it significantly in quiet tracks like speech. You can test it by selecting a track to play and pausing it not stopping it. There is no noise when it is stopped. Also happens in video player. Anyne else has this problem?

3) This question is about SEUS. I did a successfull update to the latest firmware. I booted up the phone and it asked me to select a language from a long list of languages. But after that I did a master reset and it allowed me to select from 2 languages. In my opinion the device has all the languages after a fresh update bu deletes all but the selected when it is first booting up. Is this a correct opinion?

Also is there a way to reflash the phone witn the same firmware at home? Via SEUS perhaps.

I really appreciate if someone can answer these questions.

Apart from these I had no problems with the phone. The firmware is solid and I had no resets. Only the web browser crashes when you try to open a very complex site.

It is not blinking in standy. Some noisy people were complaining about this years ago on the newsgroups and now they decided to take it off. But Nokia people catched the blinks and put it on their N80 (at least). So the blinks have now a new home. I miss them on my P990.

Haven't observed this on mine. Though some people on other non-Symbian SE Walkman phones have complained about this on some forums.

Yes, after the firmware update there are many languages to select from, but after selecting one, there is only the selected and English kept on the phone.

There should be the Update anyway selection available even though the SEUS does not find a new update.

Can you give me some links about the forums you mentioned on your reply to my second question? Because that noise is making me crazy. I'm planning to buy a 4GB MS Pro Duo to turn my P990i to a Walkman phone.

Also do you know how to make VoIP calls from P990i via wireless? Coz I have a WLAN network at home 128bit encrypted and the phone works flawlessly. I really like to make free calls over internet via skype or other 3rd party software.
