Is there a program around that gives the P990 a today screen? Shortcuts, calendar items displayed on screen, etc. A colleague would like something on his phone.

He is most probably referring to the 'Today' software that you can download for the P900 & P910 from SonyEricsson's web site - I've been using it since it became available.

Don't know if you can install it on the P990 though, might have to email SonyEricsson & ask them if it's possible.

There's the built in activity menu that does exactly this...

He's after something similar to the Today screen setup found on the SE M600

I've been using HandyDays 2004 and 2005 on my P910. It is the 'best' screen layout I reclon. And I've been waiting for the UIQ3 version for P990 for quite awhile... I did try, but No UIQ2 s/w won't run on UIQ3.

and you are waiting for what??? handyday for uiq3 has been out for several months

but there is still no proper today screen app for p990, so far

as a new product that hasnt been out long no iam trying to obtain wayfinder 6 and having no joy at all

I don't want to press a single button.

I want my agenda for as many days as will fit to be on my screen at all times (remember Active Desk for 800/910?).

I want to glance at my phone for the time and by chance notice that it will be my friend's birthday in a week.

What possible purpose does this empty "today' screen have?! Is there anything that adds some content? and leaves out any button presses? Some dort of Default Agenda/Today screen?

im really curious about this as well, i just ordered a p990i but i do like having the upcoming events on my today screen without having to click anything

The Vodafone branded P990 has a decent today screen. Unfortunately SE has no clue with regard to ergonomics and usability. The today screen present in the P990 is absolutely awful, it's like it's not there. The M600 and P1 have a much more decent today screen. And the M600 is cheaper than the P990.. Shame..
