Anyway I can get rid of teh "no cal entries for today" line on the 'desktop'? I tend to not use teh calendar much so I'd rather have a nice clear screen to see the background picture

you can take that full quick bar off the front if you look in your manual it says but otherwise its under menu tools settings phone standby then i think that has to be off

Have looked at the settings for the phone, ot appears to allow you to change the icons but I cannot see where to turn the calendar reminders off, cannot see it in the manual either, most probably missing the obvious but can anyone advise?

All you can do is turn 'active standby' off, go to 'Tools/Settings/Phone/Standby Mode and turn it off, this will also remove the 6 icons.

It is not possible to turn the calendar reminder off on its own.
