I have recently purchased N80 and this is the first time I will be using a Nokia phone. What I am not happy with is the noise it makes every time I switch it on. It also makes noise even when I choose vibrate option for incoming calls.
Is there any way I can wait for incoming calls in quiet environments without others noticing it? Before Nokia, I was using Samsung, so I expected similar ringing options.

Have you tried the "Silent" profile ?

Under Settings > Phone Settings > General change "Welcome Note" To Text or Image. This should stop the hands animation, and the Nokia jingle from playing.
