I am a complete novice with my 9500 which I bought on eBay. All seems to work EXCEPT when I receive a Text message and try to open it I get an error message come up saying "System: Unable to locate specified object"
So I cannot read any Text messages.
Could it be that the previous owner who I know had wiped his data off had also deleted a folder/folders?

Also how/where can I upgrade my firmware from V 04.44 to the current V 5.22 I believe?

You could try resetting the device. I can't remember the exact key combination - its been mentioned on the fourm a few times so try a search.

Firmware can be upgraded by Nokia service centeres and some phone shops.

It's shift-control-f at the start of the boot process
