Unfortunately even the user's manual lacks info on wich is the max MP3 playback bitrate supported...
5 versions of White Papers, all reviews so far, now the user's manual: they all skiped on this detail.
Am I asking too much when I want to know if an "multimedia" device can play an 128kbps MP3 file?...

I feel as though I OWE you a reply seeing as you're keeping us all informed on the P800! :D
You really should register for the forum though. :-? I'd imagine the P800 would play 128k bitrate MP3's. Why wouldn't it? Have you come accross another multimedia device in the past which doesn't? I'd be more intrested to know whether it can play VBR (variable bit rate) Encoded MP3's.

Yes, I would like to assume that any device that claims to have an MP3 player could play 128kbps files.
Real world devices do surprise us now and then take the Siemens LOOX. With two expansion slots (SD + CFII) one would naturally assume that it should be possible to use memory cards simultaneously on both slots...
well, that is not the case, "one memory card at a time please" says the little beast...
Know that we now that the P800 cannot handle FAX calls I would not be very surprised to know that it cannot handle 128k (my delicate ears cannot take less than that P ) MP3 files either.
"Items [of an application] can belong only to one folder at a time" is also going to be somehow limitative If my cousin *John* is also my Bridge partner and it cannot be simultaneosly on my *Family* folder & *Bridge* folder he will miss the SMSs that I will be sending to one of these Groups.
The case gets worse for your more versatile contacts that should be on the *Coleagues*, *Football*, *Scuba*, *Gadgets*, etc folders.
