We all know about mp3 files and ringtones under vodafone and the workaround with m4p files but has anyone had any problems playing downloaded 3gp video files that aren't downloaded from vodafone live?

I've downloaded a few .3gp video files from http://www.skinnyfatman.com/ that play fine using realplayer on my PC and work fine on a mates nokia PDA but when I try them on my 6630 I get 'Unable to play media clip"

Have I got old firmware or something or is this yet another vodafone limitation?

Any ideas?

Thanks
Woody

you need to make windows show file extensions:
1: open any window
2:select tools
3:select folder options
4:click view tab
5:uncheck hide extensions for all file types
6:click ok button

then:

1:rename the file you want to put on your phone as a .rm
2:transfer it to your phone into the video folder on either your phone or mem card.
3:use FExplorer or similar software to rename the file to a .3gp

wam bam thank you mam, the file will appear under gallery\video and should now play.

Don't know if this is a vodafone restriction, as i'm also on vodafone. We will find ways round vodafone's restrictions, damn them.

also you can use a free to download converter from nokia to convert many formats to 3gp format. here is the link -> http://www.forum.nokia.com/main/0,6566,040,00.html?fsrParam=1-3-&fileID=3936

Hope that helps - Skulkk
